AACFLI to Benefit from the Capitol Barter Annual Holiday Tradeshow November 14th
Long Island, NY - November 2007 - The current mortgage crisis is expected to hurt holidays sales, but astute business owners are finding solutions by embracing the barter system. Selling and purchasing on barter enables them to trade excess inventory or excess service hours for goods and services they really need. Capitol Barter Exchange, Long Island's foremost local and national barter organization, wants merchants to save money and grow their businesses, so they are offering new members who sign up prior to or at the Holiday Tradeshow an immediate line of credit and a $300 voucher for media advertisement.
"We are Long Island-based, so we have a commitment to help maintain a thriving economy in Nassau and Suffolk," says Richard Quinn, Founder and CEO of Capitol Barter Exchange. "If the Fortune 500 companies can barter, why not the smaller businesses in our area? At Capitol Barter, we have hundreds of business owners eager to trade goods -such as clothing, jewelry, event tickets, furnishings, and office supplies to name a few, and services - including legal, financial, medical, advertising, automotive and others. Our holiday tradeshow affords an excellent opportunity to see what some of our members have to offer, and at the same time, learn firsthand how our staff can help you use the barter system to your advantage."
This year's show combines festivity with charitable giving. Quinn
believes in giving back to the community, so he has earmarked a certain
amount of trade dollars from the show for three not-for-profit organizations:
Women of Substance, a domestic violence group that works for the betterment
of women: Breast Cancer Research: and Chinese Cultural Programs, Inc.,
organizers of the second annual Asian-American Cultural Festival of LI
in March 2008.
The tradeshow will run from 1-7PM on November 14th at the Stuart Thomas Manor, Boundary Avenue, Farmingdale. There will be free food and beverages, clowns, balloons and cotton candy for the kids, a blackjack table, and raffle prizes galore. Featured vendors showcasing their wares will be L.L. Weans (children's toys and educational game), a solar panel company, sculpture and glass artists, fur and leather retailers, jewelry merchants, and many others.
