The 2nd Annual Asian-American Cultural Festival of Long IslandSaturday, March 29th, 2008
at Charles B. Wang Center in Stony Brook University Thank You All for Makingthe 2nd Annual Asian-American Cultural Festival of LI So Successful! The festival drew thousands of people to the Wang Center at Stony Brook University to enjoy live performances, interactive workshops, lectures, movies, cultural displays, corporate displays, raffle drawings, face painting, art exhibits, lion dances, a tea ceremony, taiko drumming and more. The Asian-American Cultural Festival brought together cultural representatives from Korea, China, Taiwan, India, Thailand, Japan and the Philippines to showcase their traditions and share their heritage with all who attended. The Wang Center was filled with Asians and non-Asians alike who had traveled to Stony Brook to enjoy the festivities. In the evening, awards were given out after feasting on a sumptuous buffet, complemented by some delicious wine. It was a memorable and joyful event. Here are a couple of messages from our guests: 3/31/08, from an attendee

at Student Activities Center in Stony Brook University Drew Nearly 1,000 AttendantsThank you all for making this event a great success!Stella Shieh, AACFLI Event Organizer"The event turned out very well, we were on channel 12's nightly report, and Newsday was there taking pictures. Also Legislator John M. Kennedy showed up without notice...what a surprise. Virginia Huie was a glamorous and warm host. The excellent exhibition, talented performers in the afternoon, relaxing lobby music entertainment and the evening performances, what a day! I know you were exhausted and so was I, however we made it possible, and after 6 months worth of effort, it produced some very satisfying feedback. Thank you!!!"
